My friend is hosting a cocktail party at her house, and this is the dress code;
"Basically, it's a dress up event. So! Girls, smartness, prefs not clubby, dresses and heels (which no, you don't have to wear all night) and guys, think smart shirts & black trousers. "

All the girls invited are size 6-10 mebs a few 12s, and I'm a 14, 32G. I don't exactly do dresses and don't own a single one..I have one pair of boot heels which I've worn once. So basically I need a complete outfit to flatter my shape. I'm going with my fashion conscious boyfriend so I'm not on the pull but would obviously still like to look my best :]

As a student (18) I don't have a huge budget so any ideas on where too look? and what to go for?
Any ideas appreciated :]

Hey, welcome,

Many internet stores have this function "complete the look with". Also you can try classic black cocktail dress. If it's simple in design opt for some killer shoes or accessories. If it's flamboyant, leave the rest of the outfit tame.

hope this helps.

If I have had to search for the cocktail dress, then I would have definitely shop for it from online stores.
