I read an article, which says that hypnoses and special education can be very effective in losing weight. It works when you eat small portions and chew the food repetitively like you just had a gastric band. Now this is call 'gastric mind band'. You think that you undergone the operation and thus eat less. The research of this practice has been running in Spain in a clinic and was pretty successful. Now there is a book full of tricks and tips to self-hypnosis and techniques to shrink your stomach by eating less.

When the actual gastric band is done the patient's stomach's capacity is no more than 20ml. So the most s/he can eat most you can eat is six tablespoons of food. But with gastric mind band you don't have to be so strict. But be sure that your

Meat portion is 3 oz - no more than a pack of cards.
Portion of fish is 4 oz - no more than a check book.
Pasta - one portion no bigger than your fist.

While eating take smaller bites, chew properly and try eating slowly because when you eat quickly you tend to consume more food than you really need. By the time your brain gets the message that you are full you've eaten more than you needed or wanted.

Try using chopsticks or swapping cutlery hands in order to eat less and slower. Gastric patients are encouraged to eat food in a certain order first meat (since it's heavier than other foods and lingers a bit in their small stomach). If you feel full by the time you got to the other foods, STOP.

The bits of meat should be no more than the nail of your little finger. It should be chewed 10 times to ensure it digests properly.

Try enjoying your food and analyzing its taste. The taste buds are in your mouth, not your stomach, so the longer food stays in your mouth the more pleasure you will get from it. Stop worrying about wasting food and leave it on the plate and don't stuff yourself if you are already full.

To lose 1lb a week, you have to cut back by 500 calories a day, by making a few small adjustments the calorie deficit can soon mount. It’s a glass of wine or handful of crisps before dinner, skip that and you got 500 calories in hand.

Teaspoon of butter - 37 calories
Tablespoon of butter - 111 calories
Finish your salad with vinegar instead of oil.
Teaspoon of oil is about - 45 calories
Tablespoon of oil is - 135 calories

Cutting out two spoons of sugar in your tea 3 times a day results in annual calorie deficit of 37,000 calories. Which is be enough to shed more than 11lb.

You can have an ice cream occasionally, but just 1 scoop (about 150 calories). NEVER eat it straight from the tub. Enjoy a few nuts with a drink, stop at 1 or 2 (a small 4oz bag will set you back 600 calories).

Try eating only when you FEEL hungry. Do not starve, but do not eat when your organism and stomach doesn't need it.

I think this is a truly healthy food behavior. We consume more calories than we need and spend. If you have a sedentary lifestyle you don't need much food to keep you energized. On the other hand, if your lifestyle is busy and hectic you need a full normal set of calories not to fall off your feet. If you eat when you feel full you stretch your stomach and next time you'll need more food to eat to feel full, which results in gaining weight. Learn to feel your body.
