Hankie- guide on wearing

First of all, let’s identify the occasions when you can wear the hankie. The rule is- tie is irrelevant every time you wear jacket either in the suit or as an independent piece and that’s where the hankie is appropriate, especially during summer.

In case the suit is formal, it would be better opting for the white hankie, for the rest of the cases you are allowed to choose hankies of different materials and designs. Usually, a hankie shouldn’t match the tie, nor it should have the same design as the suit. The main goal is having a pleasant look wither with matching colors shades or with the contrast ones.

One of the options is coupling the silk hankie with a jacket made from rough fabrics like tweed: spin the pin on your hand, grab the center, fold the bottom half and finally insert the hankie into your pocket. If you plan to wear the tie and hankie in different color palettes, then you should opt for the dark suit and a colorful hankie.

Hankie made from cotton will better suit the sports jackets. For this case, it should be bent at a triangle: simply unite the three angels of the hankie and let the fourth one stick out of your pocket. Folding in the classical squared shape would be also appropriate: just fold the hankie for three times and voilà.

If you want to reach the effect of having more tips (remember, it is possible to make only with the high quality hankie), you should fold it the way when the two triangles are overlapped and simply fold it as many times as the number of tips you are desiring. But remember the basic rule- have your hankie always perfectly ironed.
