I like madonna lip-piercing cause it's subtle and looks cute. But it has to be worn carefully you know with the right makeup and outfit and completed image because otherwise it may end up looking unflattering like a pimple or something. I thought getting it on my upper lip for a while but the other one I did hasn't last because my body (well the lip) has basically rejected it. So yeah, no such luck, but I think I'm through with piercings now, no urge to stick pins and needles into various body parts anymore, haha.

I want a lip piercing but I'm not sire if the risks of gum and teeth damage are worth it.

I have my nose and a Monroe piercing and I recently just pierced my bottom lip again. Piercings are alot of hassle but they are worth it. You get attached with them over time.

Ok first off it doesent hurt at all I have 1 on my lower left lip 2 on my lower right and 1 on each side on the top lip also I have my sceptum done and I love them all and as long as u take the proper steps there easy to maintain but altogether I have 6 on just my face ^__^ yay me

I've had my lip ring for 2 years now. The healing takes about 2-3 weeks. Initially, there is a slight sting and then swelling. Smoking/drinking makes it worse. I suggest the loop over the stud because the stud does rub on the teeth and it gets annoying, but never has it ever caused health issues.

they really don't hurt at all..
I've had my lip pierced twice now and if done the right way and taken care of the way they should be you should hardly feel it. When its being done, the clamps SHOULD hurt way more than the actual piercing process. It shouldn't start to kind be sensitive or sore till the day after and even then it isn't even that bad.
You're friend might of had a bad job done when they got it pierced or they could be allergic to the kind of jewelry put in.
If the ring/stud starts moving on its own and starts trying to come out their body may be rejecting it.

No one takes random pictures of a needle through their lip and expects someone to go AWW HOW PRETTY!
(I know, I took pictures of it when I did mine, too.)
second off the bottom one isn't even a piercing. Its a plug often called gauges..
which I think is pretty odd to have in you're lip..
and come on.. lip piercings are of the least disturbing piercings now-a-days..
people have started piercing the backs of their ankles around their Achilles tendon..
people are splitting their tongues and even getting their eyes tattooed and pierced..
so lip rings are harmless compared to those..

Lips piercing i also like but it is really very painful but i don't suffer this type of pain because of it is too risks of gum and teeth damage are worth it.

Okay, I have to say this because I just got my lip pierced not but 2 days ago. It does NOT hurt that much at all! If you go to the right PROFESSIONALLY LICENSED person to do it, you will barely even notice it when they pierce it. My industrial ear piercing hurt more than my lip piercing did! (I am not a person that has tons of piercings and am have what I would consider to be average tolerance to pain.)
