Creators: Ian Brennan, Brad Falchuk, Ryan Murphy and others
Genre: Drama, Comedy, Music
Tagline: A biting comedy for the underdog in all of us.
Awards: Golden Globe. Another 11 wins & 33 nominations

Plot: A high-school Spanish teacher becomes the director of the school's Glee club, hoping to restore it to its former glory.

So who likes Glee? Anyone? I liked the first couple of episodes, but then it became just tooooo childish(?). So post your opinions, favorite moments and news about and interviews with the cast and show news.

Here's the interview with Lea Michele for Glamour magazine:

Lea Michele: Little Miss Big-Time

Glee’s Lea Michele might be the tiniest person in Hollywood (she’s 5’2”!), but make no mistake, she will take over the world, one show tune—and life goal—at a time.

On a sweltering late-summer morning, with her hit show on hiatus before its second season, actress Lea Michele walks into Mud, a cool New York City coffee shop. She’s wearing a bright orange slipdress and sandals. With her long brown hair piled on her head, she could be just another East Village hipster chick. But how many hipsters have been nominated for an Emmy? And how many of them carry a beautiful, loud-enough-to-break-glass voice in such an itty-bitty package?

Born in the Bronx and raised in New Jersey, Lea Michele Sarfati, 24, made it to Broadway in Les Miserables at age eight. By 21, she’d starred in the Tony-winning Spring Awakening. And then it was off to TV (musical TV) as Rachel Berry, the annoyingly willful but lovable teen on Glee, a show everyone is obsessed with—even coffee shop dudes, who make no effort to conceal their delight at the sight of Michele.

Believe me when I say she’s a lot to take in. A self-confessed caffeine addict, she has boundless energy. Weirdly, she’s not particularly theatrical. The intensity comes from the utter conviction in everything she says. Keep reading for big confidence lessons from the actress—she’s full of ‘em.

GLAMOUR: It’s so hot. Would you like an iced coffee?

LEA MICHELE: Iced coffee doesn’t do the trick.

GLAMOUR: How much coffee do you drink?

LEA MICHELE: As long as it’s in my hands, my addiction is satisfied. When we’re filming, I could go through four cups. Now that we’re [on break], I’m ridding myself of all my vices, and coffee’s my number-one.

GLAMOUR: You’re not a party girl, are you?

LEA MICHELE: I never was. Even in high school, that wasn’t my scene. If you want to come over to my house and stay up all night, I think that is more fun.

GLAMOUR: What would we do?

LEA MICHELE: I could cook for you. Homemade baked ziti.

GLAMOUR: I love baked ziti!

LEA MICHELE: I make a vegan baked ziti. And even though that doesn’t sound enjoyable, it really is. I cooked last night, and then I watched all of my Bravo shows: Bethenny Getting Married?, Top Chef and The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

GLAMOUR: Super fun. So Lea, when did you first know that you could sing?

LEA MICHELE: I didn’t know I could sing until I auditioned for Les Miserables. My friend was auditioning, and I wanted to audition too. My mother was like, “You can’t sing.” I’d never tried!

GLAMOUR: How old were you?

LEA MICHELE: Eight years old. After the [Les Mis] audition, I said, “Mom, I think they really like me.” She said if we ever hear from them again, it will be a miracle. I was a ballsy little kid. I felt no fear at all.

GLAMOUR: You’re so petite, and your voice is so gigantic. I want to know what that feels like.

LEA MICHELE: It feels like you’re jumping out of a plane. Terrifying but incredibly invigorating at the exact same time.

GLAMOUR: I take it your parents didn’t think they would be raising a star. How did they keep you grounded?

LEA MICHELE: My mother’s side is Italian; my father’s side is Jewish. We’re the kind of family where every Sunday night we have dinner with all 19 of my cousins. And my parents would say to me, “If you don’t want to [perform] anymore, you don’t have to.” They totally let me figure it out for myself.

GLAMOUR: How do your parents feel about your success?

LEA MICHELE: I think they are incredibly proud and still in shock.

GLAMOUR: Still?

LEA MICHELE: Because it’s everything that we kind of dreamed of. When I was a little kid, my mother and I used to watch the Golden Globes and I would dress up and she would get sparkling apple cider and we would make a tray of hors d’oeuvres and watch it together. And I would get up and make a pretend speech.

GLAMOUR: OK, on to Glee gossip. Is Cory Monteith [Finn] as delicious as he seems?

LEA MICHELE: Cory is such a goofball. I swear to God, that kid can make me laugh.

GLAMOUR: You don’t have a crush on him?

LEA MICHELE: No, I don’t have a crush on Cory! Rachel has a massive crush on him. He’s like my brother.

GLAMOUR: What’s the show gossip? Because you could all hate each other, for all we know. Somebody must hate somebody.

LEA MICHELE: They are my family, honestly. I don’t have family in L.A. If I didn’t have them…I love my cast.

GLAMOUR: Which castmate was the biggest surprise to you?

LEA MICHELE: Amber Riley. We’re both big personalities, and you definitely would think we’d bump heads. But she has taught me more about myself than anyone. She inspires me, she protects me, she makes me laugh, she tells me not to take myself so seriously. She’s my Mama Amber.

GLAMOUR: What’s going to happen to Rachel next season?

LEA MICHELE: I think we’re going to see [what she’s like] with a boyfriend. She’s kind of inexperienced still, and I would like to see them together for a bit as a couple. I want to meet her dad—I really do. I think that they’re saving that, though.

GLAMOUR: Have you ever had a conversation with a young girl about the show that touched you?

LEA MICHELE: A mom came up to me and told me her daughter had been asked by some little girls at school, “Are your mommies lesbians?” And the little girl was like, “Yeah.” And the little girl went home and told her mom, who said, “How did you get the confidence to [say] that?” And the little girl responded, “Mom, I’m like Rachel Berry!” That was really, really cool.

GLAMOUR: Amazing. What’s your life like when you’re not working? How do you stay fit?

LEA MICHELE: I love being healthy. I get a lot of sleep. I’m a girl who eats. And I feel beautiful no matter how I look. I have my family to thank for that. I’ll have a big Italian dinner, and I don’t give a crap because it makes me happy.

GLAMOUR: Your boyfriend [Theo Stockman] is also a performer on Broadway. So you’re on different coasts?

LEA MICHELE: Yes. I’m a relationship girl. I would rather be long-distance with him than not have a relationship at all.

GLAMOUR: What do you love about him?

LEA MICHELE: He lets me be who I am.

GLAMOUR: I would hope so! What is your ideal romantic evening with him?

LEA MICHELE: Scary movie, pizza, being at home, maybe having friends over and a great bottle of wine. I like it when a movie scares the s—t out of me. That, for me, is just the best.

Gwyneth Paltrow will make Guest Appearance on Glee!

As if the highly anticipated return of Fox's Glee tomorrow night weren't good enough, the casting news is Gwyneth Paltrow is in discussions to come on the show!

And she's going to sing and dance. And many of you fans are going to completely freak out when you hear who she might be playing:

Gwyneth will be a love interest of sorts for Matthew Morrison's character, Will Schuester.

According to rock-solid Glee sources, Gwyneth would play a substitute teacher in two episodes airing in November. Mr. Schuester gets sick, so Gwyneth's character steps in and takes over the glee club. The kids love her, and Will starts to fall for her...complicating his relationship with Emma (Jayma Mays).

(We'll pause while you diehard Will and Emma fans breathe into a paper bag.)

I'm told Glee creator/executive producer/creative badass Ryan Murphy wrote this role expressly for Gwyneth, as the two are friends. If it all comes together, Ryan will be directing her first episode, which begins shooting in two weeks.

Gwyneth also sings in a movie called Country Strong, which opens in December and is already garnering strong Oscar buzz. And of course, she's no stranger to the Academy Awards, having already won one, along with that other Glee guest star who is in the works: Javier Bardem.

Hear that? It's the sound of Sue Sylvester body-slamming a student into a locker upon hearing that someone more famous than her might be coming to McKinley High. Of course, everyone else has good cause to celebrate with some serious jazz hands, 'cause Glee's second season just keeps sounding better and better. I've seen tomorrow night's premiere episode and can tell you it does not disappoint.

Anyone else looking forward to Glee's return? And what do you think about Gwyneth sharing some screen time with Matthew? Jayma, girl, time to take off your earrings...

i like GLEE! it's fun and the guys are super talented

here's Mark Salling on the cover of Da Man magazine’s October/November 2010 issue.

here's what he said in his interview:

On his labum Pipe Dreams: “This album was a long time coming. It is actually 13 selected tracks from my library that I have compiled over the last 10 years. I wanted to choose a wide variety of songs that showcased my broad musical taste.”

On what inspires him to write: “It can be anything, from the typical love and loss to thinking you are having a bad day; then seeing someone who is a quadriplegic and realizing that you need to count your blessings … oh, and my grandma.”

On what he’d be doing if he weren’t an actor: “I would probably be working in the veterinary field, possibly doing wild bird and small mammal rehabilitation. It is something I feel very passionate about.”

On Glee’s success: “I don’t think anybody did, but I had a really good feeling based on the pilot script, so I felt like it had a good chance of being (successful and winning awards). But we work very hard, so any kind of accolade is gratifying.”

and here are photos from the magazine. enjoy!

GLEE is bad for kids! (esp their Britney episide)

the Parents’ Television Council is slamming last week’s Britney Spears-themed Glee episode for "pandering tribute to toxic teen role model Britney Spears" and for portraying her as "a symbol of empowerment and self-esteem" despite infamous breakdown, head-shaving, drug and alcohol abuse cases and lots of more negative stuff kids may think is OK after seeing GLEE praising Britney Spears.

“Considering her stints in rehab, her very public breakdowns and her questionable parenting skills, there is absolutely no way Spears should be considered a role model. The producers of the show can spare us the old song-and-dance about fallen celebs turning their lives around."

hey, what's done is done! the Britney episode had teh best ratings in GLEE's history!

so sad if true:(

Lea Michele, Cory Montieth and Dianna Agron show their sexy side in the new cover spread for GQ November 2010

Gleeks gone wild!

Here are some interview highlights

LEA MICHELE

On nose job: “I was one of the only girls in my high school that didn’t get one. And if anybody needed it, I probably did. But my mom always told me, growing up, ‘Barbra Streisand didn’t get a nose job. You’re not getting a nose job.’ And I didn’t. F— those people. That’s why I’m proud to be on a positive show and to be a voice for girls and say, ‘You don’t need to look like everybody else. Love who you are.’ ”

on being real friends with Glee co-stars: “[I]f anything’s going on in our lives, we have each other. One time, I was having a bad day, and I called Chris Colfer. He came over with a pint of ice cream and Madea Goes to Jail, and it was, like, the best night of my life.”

on her super sexy GQ photoshoot:'I don’t know how they got me to do half the stuff I did. But I was in really good shape this summer, so…'

Lea does look her sexiest and most provocative self in this shoot. it's so risqué and so opposite to her usual Glee-behavior!
Attached Image: glee-gq-nov2010-2.jpgAttached Image: glee-gq-nov2010-6.jpgAttached Image: glee-gq-nov2010-7.jpg
Attached Image: glee-gq-nov2010-8.jpg

DIANNA ARGON

on rumors about her and Lea Michele and how they poked fun at them during the GQ shoot: 'When it was just Lea and me, I was like, "We’re in skimpy clothes, we’re up against each other. This is feeding those rumors." I’ve never been shot in so little clothing.'

on her perfect Glee guest star: Christopher Walken on an episode: “I don’t think people are too fond of that suggestion [having Christopher Walken on an episode]. I think they just want me to say Justin Timberlake or something.”

on her character Quinn Fabray: 'I remember Ryan (Murphy the show's creator) saying, "You’re about to get pregnant.' And I thought, Bring it on. When they put the pregnancy pad under my cheerleading outfit, I was walking around the set, and people were like, "Only on Glee!"'

Dianna is so pretty!
Attached Image: glee-gq-nov2010-3.jpgAttached Image: glee-gq-nov2010-4.jpgAttached Image: glee-gq-nov2010-5.jpg

CORY MONTIETH

on what he thinks is next for his character Finn: “I wouldn’t put it past [Ryan Murphy] for Finn to go to military school at the end of season three, or for him to turn into the creepy janitor who gave up on his football dreams and stalks freshmen.”

on period of his life when he dropped out of school at 16: "[I got into] drinking. All that kind of crap. Things started off innocent like that. I definitely found myself in some places that I’m very fortunate I came back from.'

on casting to play Finn: 'How did that happen?. I’m Joe Canada, who never went to high school. I’ve never even been to a football game.'

on no sex in the trailer on set of Glee: 'The first I heard about that was in the media. I was like, ‘Oh, really? Dammit!’

The Parents Television Council released a statement regarding this GQ cover spread saying the following in their statement:
'It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on Glee in this way. It borders on pedophilia. Sadly, this is just the latest example of the overt sexualization of young girls in entertainment.'

GQ fired back. Editor-in-Chief Jim Nelson said: 'The Parents Television Council must not be watching much TV these days and should learn to divide reality from fantasy.'

are you Team GQ or Team Council? :)

i'm def team GQ and team GLEE. however, Dianna Agron has already apologized for her GQ spread in her latest statement:

“In the land of Madonna, Britney, Miley, Gossip Girl, other public figures and shows that have pushed the envelope and challenged the levels of comfort in their viewers and fans…we are not the first. Now, in perpetuating the type of images that evoke these kind of emotions, I am sorry. If you are hurt or these photos make you uncomfortable, it was never our intention. And if your eight-year-old has a copy of our GQ cover in hand, again I am sorry. But I would have to ask, how on earth did it get there?

“I was a very sheltered child, and was not aware of anything provocative or risque in the media while I was navigating through my formative years. When I was finally allowed to watch a movie like Grease, I did not even understand what on earth Rizzo was talking about!? I understand that in today’s world of advanced technology, the internet, our kids can be subject to very adult material at the click of a button. But there are parental locks, and ways to get around this. I am twenty-four years old. I have been a pretty tame and easy-going girl my whole life. Nobody is perfect, and these photos do not represent who I am. I am also not the girl who rolls out of bed with flawless makeup and couture clothing. I am most comfortable with my hair thrown on top of my head, in sweats, laughing with my friends. Glee is a show that represents the underdogs, which is a feeling I have embraced much of my own life, and to those viewers, the photos in GQ don’t give them that same feeling. I understand completely.

“For GQ, they asked us to play very heightened versions of our school characters. A ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ version. At the time, it wasn’t my favorite idea, but I did not walk away. I must say, I am trying to live my life with a sharpie marker approach. You can’t erase the strokes you’ve made, but each step is much bolder and more deliberate. I’m moving forward from this one, and after today, putting it to rest. I am only myself, I can only be me. These aren’t photos I am going to frame and put on my desk, but hey, nor are any of the photos I take for magazines. Those are all characters we’ve played for this crazy job, one that I love and am so fortunate to have, each and every day. If you asked me for my dream photo shoot, I’d be in a treehouse, in a wild costume, war-paint and I’d be playing with my pet dragon. Until then…..”

because the show is fun, actors are beautiful and very talented. what i like most about glee is how they render popular songs and make every song a show of its own.

Lea Michele in Closer Magazine
Attached Image: lea-michele-closer-magazine-photoshoot.jpgAttached Image: lea-michele-closer-magazine-shoot.jpg

tidbits from the interview:

on being no diva:

'If we all didn’t love each other as much as we do then it would be really hard, but I get to work with my best friends. I think that makes everything so enjoyable no matter what we’re doing.'

'I love having my cast members over, inviting them over to my house. I’ve been known to bake cookies for my crew and bring them to work.'

on her character Rachel and things they both share:

'Her passion for performing is very similar to mine as well as her determination. Sometimes when people see a woman who’s very determined and knows what she wants they label her as something negative.'

on the new role model status:

'I’m honoured to be a role model for young girls, showing them that they don’t need to get that nose job and don’t need to look exactly like all the other girls in class.'

Chord said in his interview:

On his relationship status: “I’m currently single.”

On rumors he was dating Rumer Willis: “The thing is, I have tons of friends I hang out with and if you get your picture taken with anyone, all of a sudden you’re dating.”

On his type: “A girl who’s funny, sweet, likes to laugh, and is a good girl. She needs to have somewhat of a taste for country music. And she has to be from the South. She doesn’t have to be, but there’s nothing like Southern food.”

6 things you didn't know about Heather Morris:

1. Heather auditioned for "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2006 but was rejected.

After an audition on the show, Morris was booted after she was just one vote short of staying in the Top 20. After that, she moved from Scottsdale to Los Angeles.

2. She danced for Beyonce.
