Remember how Snoop Dogg sang in his song Gin and Juice When your mind’s on your money, it’s pretty tough to feel laid back. The recent study carried by the University of Toronto supports his words.
According to the study author Sanford DeVoe (Ph.D., an assistant professor of organizational behavior at Toronto), people that were asked to think about their hourly income every hour were observed to feel 10 percent less happy than those who were not. Researchers link that to the fact that thinking about the hourly income in fact makes your mind think with weighting your time from dollars-and-cents point of view as study says.
Of course no one will refuse getting paid, but it is not always as beneficial as you think. The study by George Mason University discovered that replacing the leisure time by work and thus earning money increases the feelings of depression and social anxiety and provoke the belief that life is meaningless.
