There are beauty rules that are common and always work. There are those that come with the newest trends and go away with them. There are many beauty rules so let's share.
I like the following ones:

1. True beauty lies in confidence, so always treat the ground under your feet like a catwalk and work it.
2. If you buy a new product, try following the directions on the package before deciding it doesn’t work.
3. If all else fails, wear big sunglasses and expensive earrings. (ha-ha, clever)
4. Even supermodels don’t wake up looking like supermodels. Get off your own case!
5. Don’t let anyone make you think you’re superficial for caring about how you look. After all, they’re the ones who believe that what you do with your appearance means something about who you are.
6. It’s extremely unlikely that you’re actually as fat as you think you are.
7. Being nice to strangers makes you happier, and being genuinely happy makes you more attractive.
8. Faking your nails, eyelashes and hair color are okay. Faking your personality is not. (That is so true.)

Other beauty rules:

Get a trim every six weeks.

"That's about how long it takes older strands to tear," Carver says. If you ignore splits, the tiny fissures can work their way up the length of hair, creating a ragged cuticle and dulling hair's shine.
Wash your face before bedtime.

"Leaving makeup on overnight can enlarge pores, which is aging," Dr. Gross warns. Cleanse in small circular motions to break down residue, then smooth moisturizer on still-damp skin.
Eat your way beautiful.

Pack your plate with foods containing vitamin E (in sunflower seeds and almonds) to help keep skin hydrated. Add vitamin C–rich foods (papaya, red peppers and oranges) to help lessen lines from the inside out.
Celebrate yourself.

Appearance is only a small part of who you are. To remind yourself of that, periodically make a point of describing your qualities without focusing on looks. ("I'm smart and a great friend.") See how easy that was?

More beauty rules:

1. Smoky eyes are only for a night out: The daytime smoky eye is going to be big for summer when paired with bronzed skin and pale lip. Opt for lighter colors than usual — bronzes and mid-tone gray, for a softer light smoky [eye] for daytime. For staying power, smudge an eye kohl on the lash line and layer with a matching shadow.
2. Allow a product at least six weeks before giving up on it: If the product is causing redness, bumps, stinging, or swelling: toss it! You know what your skin can handle, so why be miserable and wait it out?
3. Dark lips are only for winter: Berry and brick red lips aren’t just for the winter anymore. Just ask Rachel Bilson, who was seen recently at a Phillip Lim dinner rocking a dark lip. Move over hot pinks and bright corals, dark vampy colors are staying for summer.
4. Save the false lashes for a special occasion: False lashes can be a great way to spruce up any look, whether you have sparse lashes or just want to add some drama. To avoid looking too over-the-top try individual lashes placed strategically on the lash line to add just a bit of oomph.
5. Get your hair trimmed every six to eight weeks to keep split ends away: I got the A-OK from my wonderful stylist before adding this one. Truth is, not everyone needs that trim every 6-8 weeks. If you’re trying to grow your hair out longer, or have untreated hair, it's possible to go 10-12 weeks between trims. Just keep an eye out for split ends, which mean you're due for an appointment.
