This is a widely spread phenomenon that drunk men perceive women as more appealing. But in fact women are the ones who get fooled by the effect of alcohol.
Scientist studied why people of the opposite sex seem more appealing after you get a few drinks. And surprisingly women were more fooled by the alcohol effect.
Researchers from London’s Roehampton University requested more than 100 representatives of the both sexes rate pairs of faces. While some of them were hardly imbibed drinks like vodka and tonic, others drank the non-alcoholic drinks with the same taste and an orange squash.
One part of the test required looking at various faces and stating whether they considered them to be symmetrical or non-symmetrical. Scientists had discovered before that people used to link symmetry to attraction since symmetric faces are the clear sign of good genes and health.
Men and women who were drunk in most cases found the people’s faces symmetrical comparing to those that didn’t drink alcohol.
