There are so many sources of stress these days that it is often difficult to overcome! Rhythm of life got hectic!

Dealing with stress isn't easy and most people need more than one technique to be effective at handling it. I have a couple of ways to overcome stress: exercising and painting or drawing. I know that yoga is a great form of exercise that also allows your mind to relax.

here are stress-coping tips from Stress Less: The New Science That Shows Women How To Rejuvenate The
Body And The Mind
by Thea Singer:

DON'T DIET: Trying to lose weight is stressful, biologically and psychologically. Studies have shown the more rigorous the diet, the shorter the vital telomeres protecting our DNA (they decrease and eventually die when we're under stress). If we eat on the run or while we feel stressed, the weight will go on to our midriffs. The answer is simple - enjoy your food. It’s important that in times of stress, you eat healthily and regularly.

MEDITATE: In 2007, researchers found that participants in a three-month yoga retreat had increased the level of telomerase in the bloodstream. Yoga allows you to control your thoughts, not letting them spiral out of control. And if you feel more in control, you will be less stressed.

ENJOY YOUR EXERCISE: If you don't enjoy working out, better stop doing it as lack of enjoyment will release stress hormones, which is counter - productive. Exercise should leave you feeling elated.

BE OPTIMISTIC: Research shows that pessimists have shorter telomeres than optimists.

EAT THE RIGHT FOOD
: Pistachios protect our DNA by lowering blood pressure. Studies have shown Omega 3s (found in oily fish) encourage our telomeres to grow. Cherry juice, almonds and mixed berry juice all act as anti-oxidants. Besdies, women who take multi-vitamins had longer telomeres than those who don’t.

SLEEP MORE: it's simple and well-known, but still it's effective!

MORE SEX: have more sex as it’s good for the cells in the brain :)

ps. stress is known to wreck DNA, so don't let it make you get old prematurely! ;)

I do the same as Mona. I think the best thing we can do is just to be distracted. Later a person can look at the problem from the different angle of view and be less emotional about it.
