The highest-priced home in the United States has just been sold. Though I don’t know if it’s as much a home as it is a shopping mall.

In 1980, producer Aaron Spelling and his wife bought 5 acres of property in Holmby Hills and tore down the existing home to build a French Chateau-style estate in 1991. The mansion includes a bowling alley, beauty salon and parking for 100 cars. What, no movie theater?

When the home was built, it was the largest home in Los Angeles. The home also has 14 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms, as well as a flower-cutting room, a China room and a gift-wrapping room. It’s probably next to the “brainstorming more rooms” room.

Candy Spelling said in 2009 that when she was searching for real estate agents, she let her dog pick out the best one. Because that’s what I really look for in an agent—one that smells like bacon.

Petra Ecclestone, a 22 year-old heiress known for her extravagant lifestyle, bought the 57,000 square foot Los Angeles mansion. Ecclestone is the daughter of Bernie Ecclestone, CEO of the Formula One brand, and Slavica, a former Armani model.

According to the Daily Mail, Petra is described as “one of the most spoiled girls in Britain.” Maybe it’s because of her extensive Rolex and Hermes collection. Or maybe it’s because she bought an $80 million dollar home in Chelsea. Or it could be because she claims she bought that home for her dogs. Yeah, I’m gonna go with the dog one.

Ecclestone recently attempted to start a men’s clothing line, but after it didn’t do so well, the heiress said, “I’m trying to figure out what I want to do next.”

“It’s important for me to make my own name because I want to make my mum and dad proud, not just live off the Ecclestone name.”
