you know, guys, i just want to unburden my mind! my university education is worth not only money but my time spent on it as well! only few of my chalkies DO know a subject inside out and others are just sciolists! but i have to attend my absolutely useless lectures and seminars just because it is the way it's supposed to be done, can't stand it anymore but then i can do nothing :(

sorry for so negative emotions venting on you...

university education was free for me but i think those who paid money regretted doing that a lot. our teachers didn't know their disciplines well but pretended to be professors))). i don't know what i would have learnt if i hadn't studied on my own)))

The report titled "The Big Payoff: Educational Attainment and Synthetic Estimates of Work-Life Earnings" reveals that over an adult's working life, high school graduates can expect, on average, to earn $1.2 million; those with a bachelor's degree, $2.1 million; and people with a master's degree, $2.5 million.

i think everything depends on a person. you can graduate from Harvard but not be able to work well. and people without any degrees change the world.

People who can change the world have great minds, with or without college.

I know lots of people criticize the quality of higher education. For some of them, the process of studying is kind of torture. However after I finished school and started studying at university, I discovered that the process of learning something new is really great!!! I didn't experience the feeling of joy while being at school. But university...it really broadens horizon and opens you more intriguing world. It's just my opinion. Maybe I was lucky.

the myth that EVERYBODY should have a higher education is...well...just a myth, IMHO. higher education doesn't add to one's intellectual abilities. besides many people after school don't know what they want to do with their lives but they jump on the most demanded majors without feeling passionate about them. i don't think it's right. although my education gave me some perks i regret the four years i've spent on something i didn't love. so in the ideal world you choose something you'd like to study and get a degree.

anyway, my friend had 4 antagonizing years at the university and now he's transferred to get a distant education in the same university. he doesn't have to go to lectures and classes anymore.
